Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the risk of non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in dominant and non-dominant limbs of basketball players with the modified Landing Error Scoring System (mLESS).
Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of sarcopenia in Thai community-dwelling elderly according to the diagnostic criteria of AWGS2019.
Materials and Methods: Ten basketball players participated in this preliminary study. They were instructed to complete lateral single-leg jump landing (LSJL) task for both dominant (DL) and non-dominant (NDL) limbs. The jumps were recorded using two cameras positioned in the sagittal and frontal planes. The videos were subsequently analyzed using the mLESS for scoring. Paired t-tests and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test were used to statistically compare of total and item mLESS scores between the DL and NDL, respectively. Spearman's rank correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between the score of each item and the total mLESS score.
Results: There was no significant difference of total and item mLESS scores between the DL and NDL (p > 0.05). Significant correlations between individual items and the total mLESS score were observed for items 7 and 9 in the NDL.
Conclusion: No significant differences of the mLESS scores were found between the DL and NDL. The DL and NDL seem to have a similar level of non-contact ACL injury risk during single-leg lateral jump landing.
